Joint JIBS-JIBP Paper Development Workshop
Submission deadline: Monday, November 9, 2020
The Academy of International Business will hold a joint Paper Development Workshop (PDW) of the Journal of International Business Studies and the Journal of International Business Policy. The workshop is part of the virtual 2020 AIB-Canada Chapter & iBEGIN Conference (see www.uvic.ca/ibegin).
The purpose of the PDW is to provide scholars with developmental feedback on their international business research. We invite original papers from authors who have not previously published in the journals JIBS or JIBP. We particularly encourage submissions from Ph.D. students and junior scholars who seek feedback on their research projects, or scholars who are trained in disciplines less commonly associated with the field (e.g. economic geography, innovation studies, political science) but are interested in targeting international business journals. The paper does not need to be connected to the iBEGIN & AIB-Canada Chapter Conference theme. PDW participants will receive feedback on their work from experienced international business scholars on the JIBS or JIBP Editorial Board.
Prospective participants should submit their full papers (extended abstract cannot be accepted at the PDW), to ibeginaibcanada@uvic.ca indicating their interest in the PDW by Monday, November 9. The cover page of the full paper should include your name, email address and affiliation. Papers must conform to the style guidelines of JIBS/JIBP. All participants must register for the conference to attend the PDW. Participants will be notified about the acceptance of their submissions by Monday, November 13.

About AIB-Canada Chapter
The mission of the Academy of International Business (AIB) Canada Chapter is to promote teaching and research of all areas of international business, within the framework of the worldwide AIB. The Chapter acts as a forum for the development and exchange of views on issues in international business, mainly by means of the AIB Canada Chapter Annual Meeting and representation at the Administrative Sciences of Association of Canada (ASAC) Annual Conferences.
About iBEGIN
Since 2013, the iBEGIN community has aimed to integrate research on the intersection of the three fields of international business, economic geography, and technology/innovation studies. In addition to the conference theme, we welcome all paper submissions that address the broader iBEGIN research agenda. iBEGIN research aims at integrating and leveraging these three diverse research streams to develop a holistic view of the organization of economic activity across space. All iBEGIN research is built around a set of core and fundamental tenets:
• Connectivity across space is the “invisible web” that underlies all human civilization.
• Human connectivity appears in two generic forms – organization-based (pipelines) and individual-based (personal relationships).
• Social networking and innovation are the two most important elements of the human creative experience.
