Welcome to Canada’s Premier Organization for International Business Scholars
Founded in 1971, AIB Canada is one of our academy’s longest running regional groups, serving members across the entire country. Here you can find some information about what makes our chapter so unique: our history, current activities and initiatives, and tips for how you can get involved.
The Academy of International Business (AIB) is the leading association of scholars and specialists in the field of international business. Established in 1959, today the AIB has 3620 members in 96 different countries around the world. Members include scholars from the leading academic institutions as well as consultants and researchers with an interest in international business. AIB also houses 18 chapters around the world, which provide AIB members of a particular geographic area with opportunities for the exchange of ideas at a more local level.
Founded in 1971, AIB Canada Chapter is one of our academy’s longest-running regional groups, serving members across the entire country.
AIB Canada’s mission is to promote teaching and research in all areas of international business within the framework of the worldwide AIB and to act as a forum for the development and exchange of views on issues in international business. A key venue for this purpose is our annual conference. We welcome suggestions from members on how we can best serve you. Please reach out to AIB Canada’s leadership team to let us know of your interests, ideas, and questions.
We implemented various initiatives for IB scholars in Canada. For example, we host the yearly AIB Canada Chapter Conference, implemented the ‘Burning Issues In IB’ webinar series, and coordinate Ph.D. and early career scholars’ networking and learning opportunities.
